I always look back at who raced in the Busch series and Trucks back in like 2002 - 2007 and think what ever happened to some of those driver. I think it would have been nice if some of them would have been given a chance at a better team.

Some people I think should get another chance.

Stephen Leicht
Todd Kluever
Burney Lamar
Brandon Whitt
Scott Wimmer

Comment and tell us who you think should get another shot

Stephen Leicht should've been a top-caliber Nationwide Series driver by now. But the one driver who needed to have a good ride was Casey Atwood. He was steadily improving before Evernham gave him the boot. If it wasn't for that, he would been in a decent ride.

In my opinion, Brandon Whitt showed the most potential, though I'd want to see all of them get good rides.

I'd want to see Erik Darnell get another shot, too.

Blake did race for Turner last year... He had 1 good run... but I think if he had a car that he wasnt spliting the ride with and he could learn the team he would do pretty good

Colin Braun: 1 win, 23 top tens, and 5 poles in just 53 truck races.
I think Roush should have really invested more in him over David Ragen.

Somehow I have a feeling that you can add Trevor Bayne to this list in a few years. Great racecar driver, but no sponsorship. I still don't get why such teams that suck big time can get a sponsorship and one of the rising future stars who has won the biggest race of the year in 2011 can't...

Trevor has a great attitude and he came out of that MWR nationwide mess for the better. I think he will do great in the end. Right now hes committed to the Ford camp so he is stuck hoping sponsorship shows up or hes allowed to go somewhere else. Personally I hope it works out with Ford.

My list:
Colin Braun
Casey Atwood
Erik Darnell
Stephen Leicht
Justin Labonte
Billy Parker
Landon Cassil (Yeah he has a cup ride but he had way more potential)
Johnny Sauter (Once again he has a ride, but I felt he was booted too early from the #30 AOL Chevy in '04, he didn't run the whole season)

Also, there's probably a crapload of more people Roush probably screwed over...

In My Opinion these are the guys that deserve a second shot:
-Cale Gale
-Ryan Truex
-Ron Hornaday
-Reed Sorenson
-Scott Wimmer
and a few others, but DavidN your first post, were most the guys I thought. The guys I stated are guys that should have a chance to renew their careers. Agree with me or not, the gentlemen I named all have talent.

Brad Coleman, I felt bad last year when he basically got shuffled out of JGR because they couldn't find sponsors for him I thought he had a chance to be a really good Cup driver.

Other than Coleman...

Scott Riggs
Todd Kluever
Bryan Clauson (although i believe he's doing quite well driving open wheels)
Danny O'Quinn Jr.
Brian Ickler
Brandon Whitt

Colin Braun x10000, aka Mr. "Ima go ahead & win two Grand-Am races at age 17 nbd lol kthxbi"

Blake Feese & Boston Reid

Ryan Hemphill... who probably nobody remembers. Go here and look at his ARCA line.
Ryan Hemphill Career Statistics - Racing-Reference.info
Incredible, then he vanished after driving for a B- grade team for less than half the year in N'wide. He was originally in the Ganassi development stable.

Agreed on Landon Cassill, I wanted JR Motorsports to run him so badly
Casey Atwood in 2005 and 2006, he's probably too far gone now.
Agreed on Stephen Leicht
Want more Todd Kluever too as well as Erik Darnell...

Cale still has a shot, Ron's past his NBS prime, Ryan Truex is still improving and I forgot about Reed Sorenson, he's one to add to the list.

Key word here: MONEY. Sponsors can't afford to be on the Roush cars because he charges so much.

Anyway, here is my list:

- Bill Elliot
- Casey Atwood
- Erin Crocker
- Steven Wallace (I know what you're thinking but he look great at Richmond. I think he has matured and calmed down behind the wheel... for now.)
- Ryan Reed (ARCA driver)
- Johnny Benson

Charges what he needs to to not go backwards financially any further. He put out a lot of his own cash to run him and Ricky unsponsored in the Nationwide Series.

Elaborate

Johnny because right before he got let go he was doing great and got his first Championship. Bill because Mark has showed me that the old-veterans can still get it done and Bill will show everyone at Daytona he's still got it.
