I know that some of the 77 cars (and crew members) have been worked into the two other teams, and the rest are gone. I have a cousin that has worked for Roger for the past 11 years on the 2 team (now 22), and thats what he told me anyway. I guess alot of guys got laid off too unfortunally.

As for the owners points, I'm sure it came down to nothing more than a price like it usually does. Rusty showed up with his checkbook and the transaction was made. No offense to Brian, but even if some way he wouldve ended up with the points, it wouldnt do him much good after the first five races. Dont get me wrong, those five paychecks would be huge but after that I dont think theres any chance in hell he'd be able to stay in the top 35. I gotta think he's most-likely not going to be able to show up every week anyway. Good luck to him this weekend though.

What I meant was after the 1st race when Rusty already was done with the points $1 from Brian would have been more then what Penske got for races 2-5.

Yea I got ya. I'm sure it wasnt a "per race" type payment though that Rusty made. He would've paid a hefty price for those points, whether he uses them for one race or all five.

All I know is this week is going to be tough for him.

42 cars are gonna run the full race by my reckoning. so If he gets in - don't be surprised if he ends up in the 40's...

Pretty sure you can't transfer Owners Points through the regular season. Only during the offseason, and the previous owner still must retain "ownership."

Yea you cant transfer owners points during the sesaon. Usually the previous owner doesnt have anything to do with the team he sold them too. Its really just basically a cash transaction. They have to put their names on some paper work that makes it appear they are some kind of minority owner but its nothing more than a paper trail. That part of it is just smoke and mirrors to satisfy the technicalities of the rules. They almost never have any involvement with the team they sold the points to.
