I found the Problem..Its the same as Vista, You have to disable the DEP..
    works fine now..
Disable DEP in Vista (AND) Windows 7

    1. Click Start
    2. Click All Programs
    3. Click Accessories
    4. Right Click on Command Prompt
    5. Left click on Run as Administrator
    6. Click the Allow button if it asks you for permission
    7. Type or copy and paste this into the command prompt window:

    bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

    8. Hit enter and you should see the confirmation: Operation Completed Successfully
    9. Reboot and DEP should be off.

Can a mod sticky this please? I'm sure many people will need it as the switch is made to Windows 7.

Are you running 64-bit or 32-bit?

I'm on the fence about which one to install. I have a new Laptop which is more than adequate to run 64-bit, but I haven't heard about anyone running that flavor successfully with NR2003.

    Thanks,

I am usinc 64-bit and I don't think disableing DEP did anything.

There are TWO no-cd patches at gamecopyworld. I tried the 1.3mb one and it worked.

I just got W7 x64 and I am trying to solve this issue as well. Everything is fine with the CD...

FYI, if you want to not kill DEP all together and put you system at risk use this command.

    bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx OptOut

    Then;
Go to Control Panel>System & Security>System>Advanced Sytems Settings
    Click the Advanced Tab
Click the Settings button under Performance
Click the Data Execution Prevention Tab
Click the option "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I selct:"
    Click add
Browse to your NR2003 folder and select the NR2003.exe

Problem so far is you can only do this for the CD exe and not the no CD patch. Windows says the No CD must run in DEP.

    No cd question

Do I have to do a "re-install" of nr2003 and then the patch, then the no-cd? and can I install the no-cd to my currently installed game?

    Hmmm......

I am running Windows7 64bit and have had no problems at all running with the no-cd hack....
I didn't have to go through any of this stuff.

Same as Iceman, it worked fine the first time without any modifications.

I was wondering if anyone could help me...

I've had this computer since January and have tried everything I've read about N2003 & Windows 7. I don't have my nr2003 cd anymore, I've downloaded a torrent. When I launch the installer, it pops up the loading installer in the bottom right and the papyrus logo, then nothing else is on my screen except my desktop, it plays the engine sound but never pops up the did you hear the sound file or anything else, it just stops running all together.

Bad Bit-Torrent download. Try another. This happens a lot.

I hate to be the "forum police" lol

But me having a site and dealing with people being ignorant enough to post about it...

Forum Rules clearly state NOT to discuss illegal activity ....

    OK, I'm done :)
