I just bought a brand new laptop last night. (After spilling an adult beverage on my old acer...)
I told the guy at Walmart I didn't want to spend more than $500 which was what almost all of them were. I ended up getting a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series with windows 8 unfortunately.. So far this laptop is awesome! 1 terabyte hard drive, 6 gb of ram and a dual processor. I can finally watch 720p or higher videos on youtube! (before I was lucky to get 360p to work lol) however... my internet, connection or wifi realllllllly sucks! I'm connected to the home router (wireless) in my room I only get 3 out of 5 bars on my connection, when i'm in the same room as the router i'm fully connected however I still have problems loading websites. Now this laptop is brand new and I was positive the drivers were all updated. I checked the wifi driver, internet connections driver etc and everything was up to date!! Almost every site I looked at was about people switching from windows 7 to 8 and having problems. So far I have no idea what to do!! I haven't disabled DEP (not sure how to do that on windows 8) Also I play a few games online and I can't connect to the servers half the time so I think it has something to do with my connection, right? Is there anything else I can do to get a better connection??
PS.. I'm downloading firefox at the moment to see if anything different with the internet speed happens..will update
