I was actually surprised that it drove just fine afterwards. I was keeping an eye on the engine temp and the steering alignment but other than seeing way more of the hood then I usually do, it didn't seem any different behind the wheel than before. I'm hoping I'm right but it seems like mostly cosmetic damage and maybe a new radiator at worst.

One cool feature about Esurance is I can now go online and see photos of my car being worked on through each step. Should be interesting to see. I'll post what I get from that here.

Yeah, that always kind of stood out for me. Never really thought anyone would do it though. XD

Can't wait to see how they are doing with it.

Well I hope so. I know my 01 Accord was a wonderful car, only problem or part failure in almost 150k miles was the alternator. Thats damn good quality. I loved that car was very good to me. Only pictures I have of it, never got any with the body kit, or wheel and headlamp changes. I like the blue, but that shade of hunter green was pretty too.

Again glad you are ok. I never crumpled mine so I dont know for sure on Honda's but on alot of cars they are never quite the same so I hope yours stays that way.

Well after hearing all these good comments, I may just buy a Honda as my first car. XD

I would, they are pricey, but if you can find a good used one for your first car then you will be in good hands. They don't break a lot, parts are not ridiculously priced. And they are very nice smooth vehicles that hold their value.

My first car was a 89 Grand Am, then a 1990 Audi 200 Turbo S, then my Ford Ranger 98 I think, then the Honda. Now I have my truck.

Yeah, my step-dad is pushing for me to get a truck, so I am not really sure.

Alright, I won't highjack this thread... XD

Just got the estimate back. $6,500 worth of damage.

It needs a new: hood, front bumper and grille, headlights, fenders, passenger side door panel, horn, radiator, a/c condenser. I'm not sure why the passenger side door...but that's fine with me. Someone had opened their door into it soon after I got it and left quite a mark.

Total repair time: 9 business days.

*sigh* I'm just gonna stare at this until then.

^Sounds like you're at least getting your moneys worth then some. Hopefully they will use good quality parts, I know that not all parts are created equal.

Hmm I guess I was closest with out going over. Dose that mean I win the showcase showdown? I dont think my guess was to bad. Since I was only going on a few photos.

More photos.

I'm really puzzled as to why they took a photo of the back of the car. I had asked them for a 2nd estimate including my cost to repaint the trunk lid (some jackass keyed it about 5 months ago) but I never received such an estimate or approved any extra work outside of the damage from the crash. My guess is they haven't done anything to the trunk (though the low resolution of the picture would hide the scratch anyway) but that just makes me wonder why they'd take a shot of the rear.

First let me say this. I would be more pissed about them not putting a rag in you intake. First lesson of working on cars. Plug any and every hole that some thing can crawl in. If its out side like your car you put duct tape over it with a rag.

Also why they took pictures of the back is to cover there ass. It is also to cover your ass. Say they didn't take pictures from all angles. You go get your car and there is a scratch in the back. Its your word against there's. But the 3/4 is most likely for you insurance. When your car went in the shop. The manger walked around the whole car. He took pictures of every little chip, scratch, dent, and the interior.

^Yeah, I noticed the intake being open like that too. When I asked about it, they said that they did cover everything up after the pictures were taken. Guess I have to give them the benefit of the doubt...

Updated pics. Parts are in and they've removed all the damaged parts. They're also trying to see if they can make the trunk lid scratch less noticeable with touchup before actually giving me an estimate on a full-on repair.

Damn, they did a good job. Congrats on getting it back, and early. Wow, that's something that you don't hear everyday. Usually you expect things a day late, not early XD
