Hey guys I know of another way to fix that problem where your car is blurry. When your at the main modification page for NR2003, with the track, series, player folder etc, you scroll down till you see the file named "rend_dxg". And in it, where it says, "TextureSetSize" whatever number there is there, put a minus symbol there. For example this is what mine looks like now, TextureSetSize=-4194304. And for those of you who don't have the blurry problem it still makes your cars look ALOT nicer. Especially the reflections off the car. Hope I helped!

I've only just joined, having just rediscovered the joys of NR2003, which I purchased on the day it was released in the UK. Haven't played it for ages, due to influence from GTR/GTL/P&G, but now furiously updating the game. But the one thing that did date the game was the fact that the graphics were not pin-sharp... until now! Prodriver13, your tip has transformed the game, and it looks as good as anything I have played in recent years. Fantastic!

Daytona Duels

1. When they created the track, they just re-positioned the pit stalls to reflect which pit stalls the actual team picked for the race. The track came with a "Track_normal pitselection" file that will move the pits back to the pole sitter having the stall at pit exit and 43rd having the first stall at pit entrance and everyone else in order in between. I think they started doing that with the tracks they released last year.

2. Never noticed.

Daytona

The abrupt change from night back to daylight must have been a small distraction. I had a small problem with both the Duels and Shootout where the sky changed from one image to another back to the original coming out of turn 4 to the pit entrance. It appears to be an issue with my video card and Direct3D as OpenGL fixed it.

1. Same as #1 above.

2. Haven't raced long enough to notice that.

3. Not sure what you mean. The directory structure of Windows has always been you can't have two folders with the same exact name in the same folder. As for in the game, I have seen several tracks that have the same name, but their directory folders have different name (ex. xxx_v1, xxx_v2, etc) and they have always worked fine for me.

I can fix the windows base problem that is easy as fall of a log


folder one Daytona_revamped

Folder two daytona_revampedv1

windows loads both folder

The nascar game

The problem is that both have the same. dat file

Daytona_revamped.dat / daytona_revamped.dat both load with folder one

Set up folder two with the folwing .dat files

Daytona_revamped.dat / daytona_revamped.dat

Daytona_revampedv1.dat / daytona_revampedv1.dat

the both load the screen can't load track

How is there any way around this both are great version of the same track they both happen to have the same name

Ok, so you have a Daytona_Revamped folder and a Daytona_Revampedv1 folder. I am guessing that you either copied the Daytona_Revamped folder into the v1 folder or you just ran the install a second time to the v1 folder.

In the v1 folder you need to rename any .Dat, .Cam, .Pck, and .Ptf files that are present to match the folder name. You also need to unpack the .Dat file, change any of the same files that are packed in the .Dat file to match the folder name, and then repack them all. I know that WinMip2 will unpack the .Dat file but I am not sure that it will repack the files (never tried that). I know that at one point The Pits had Pack and UnPack files that you used in command line format.

Once you have those file names changed you should be able to access both versions of the track in the game. The only thing that I can think of is that unless you change the track photo of one of them or change the track name in the track.ini file you may not be able to tell the difference. However, if you change the track.ini and race online you may have problem with the track and passing technical inspection. I have never raced online but have heard that unless the track.ini matches exactly with the hosting server you will fail inspection.

I also think you can use WinMip2 to change the trkXX.stp file into a .bmp to make changes to the track photo. You may want to ask someone who has worked with making tracks to be sure.

These tracks are great but I dont like the new car reflection, any way to change just that back to default? Thx guys

Yeah i think the new atlanta is the same way and they added DIGGER cams .........so friggen cool!!!!

Are you talking about the daylight reflections on the lower half of the cars once the track has transitioned to night and/or when going through the shadows? If it is, there is a known but about that which I don't think can be fixed short of unchecking one of the Shadow boxes in the game (not sure which one).

You might want to check out the Revamped Forms about it.
