I'm curious how many people other than me have a diecast collection. If so, do you have any rarities or cars special to you? I have about 10 1/24s and 150 or so 1/64ths. :) Best place to find deals on NASCAR diecasts is eBay! What I've figured out: DO NOT buy diecasts at the track ;) Been there, done that!

PS: Mods, sorry, I don't know if this should go in the General Community Discussion or the NASCAR forums. Please bear with me :)

My favorite 1/24 diecasts are...

My 2009 David Reutimann Aaron's car
My 2008 David Reutimann UPS car, and his toys for Tots car
My 2000 Bobby Labonte chrome car
My 2005 Kenny Wallace Aaron's 50th Anniversery car (The box says 1 of 24, thats pretty rare!)

Carson Downs has the most efficient, organized collection I've ever seen.

The few that I have left are in storage.

A relative of mine had a sweet collection 10 years back, but most of it was lost in the divorce.

I have a few "rares" I consider track-bought or not Winner's Circle brand cars rare.

56 Martin Truex Jr - NAPA Toyota (2010)
39 Ryan Newman - US ARMY Chevy (2010)
33 Clint Bowyer - Cheerios Chevy (2009)
77 Sam Hornish Jr - Mobil 1 (2009)
24 Jeff Gordon - National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Chevy (2009)
24 Jeff Gordon - Pepsi Chevy (2009)
31 Robby Gordon - Cingular Wireless (2003) *Autographed*

My favorite 1:24 Scale car:
27 Jason Keller - USPS Promo Car *Autographed*
My dad's friend's wife gave it to me from the Talladega Aaron's 312 a few years ago.

Many may not remember these, but 1 have 2 of the 1:43 scale die-cast cars. One of them I've kept in mint condition.

3 Dale Earnhardt - Coca-Cola Chevy (1998) *Mint Condition*
12 Jeremy Mayfield - Mobil 1 (2000) *Beat up*

Going back to the rare 1:24's I gotta tell you this story of a die-cast I let slip away:

I went into a Montgomery NASCAR die-cast store going Christmas shopping for myself and they didn't have much in the way of 1:64s I didn't have or need. But anyway, they had some pretty neat 1:24's in the Action Series on discount (Mark Martin's 2009 Kelloggs, Jimmie Johnson 2009 Lowes, Joey Logano 2008 Home Depot). But there was one die-cast I thought was REALLY rare. It was a Joey Logano car back when he was with the ARCA Re/Max Series still. This car was a raced-win version. Now, in this race, Joey flat out dominated. He led every single lap. I thought it over for a long time, and decided to go to Wal-Mart and Target and get Winners Circle 1:64s. To this day, I still regret getting not that car. Don't get me wrong, I got some pretty good cars for Winner's Circle brand. But still, ther is no telling how much money that Joey Logano car would be worth many years from now. Let me repeat: this was a raced-win version of Joey Logano's ARCA Re/Max Series car that he led every single lap in!

Let this be a reminder for everyone that might get in this situation......Buy the car! Don't let rare die-cast like that slip away. I was stupid for not taking that Joey Logano car, and as I said, to this day I regret not getting that car. Don't screw up like I did.

I have to say the only really rare car I have is the 2005 Kenny Wallace (1 out of 24 ever made) 50th Aniversery Aaron's car.

The David Reutimann Toys for Tots car is 1 of 708. So I guess thats kinda rare.
