So i bought a 2 1/24th diecast off ebay, Jeff's 09 Pepsi 500 car, found it 10 bucks cheaper than anywhere else I could find it, and Boris Said's No Fear car from 08, for 15 bucks.

WOW! 7 pages of diecast discussion within the last day? I had no clue this topic would be so popular! I should post pictures of my up and coming collection!

My most prized car is probly 1998 Dale Earnhardt 1:64. Then I have the Jeff Gordon Nascar 2000 car and others that I call "jewels".

I have hundreds of 1/64th scale diecast cars that I started collecting when I was around 5 years old, so sometime in the late '80's or early '90's and stopped collecting around 2002 or '03. Most of them are the Racing Champions brand and some are the Winners Circle brand. I used to build race tracks with my Lincoln Logs, keep points and even some stats. It's a good thing I found NR2003 because it's taken the place of pushing my diecasts around Lincoln Log tracks!

I guess I should mention some of my rarer diecasts that I have (I mostly have the regular schemes from each year):

-Dale Earnhardt's 2001 car
-Jeff Gordon's Jurassic Park All-Star car
-Joe Nemechek's 1994 #41 Meineke Larry Hedrick car
-Dale Earnhardt's Wheaties car
-Kyle Busch's #87 NEMCO/Hendrick Dietech.com
-Pretty much all of the Racing Champions cars when they were actually made with metal

Probably more that I have, but I can't remember them all!

I've got a lot of 1/64ths. I don't collect 1/24ths but my brother got a '09 Jeff Gordon DuPont 1/24 for his birthday and we kind of share it. I'll get a list of my 1/64ths and get some pics sooner or later.

Must be nice to have the money to spend on those 1/24s. The only one I own is a damn Michael Waltrip car from last year that I got autographed in Loudon, because I went with a Waltrip fan....

2 years of savings for diecasts? Damn. If I saved money for two years it better be for something good, like a motorcycle or implants for Jenna.

Yeah...I can't justify spending $65 on one of those things. If I really wanted a 1:24, I'd buy the Winner's Circle or the old Team Caliber baseline models for $20.

1:64ths make collecting so much easier...they may not have all the special schemes, but they allow you to amass a much larger collection for a fraction of the price.

They also take up much less space, which can be used for things like guitars.
